Chairman Loughery’s 2020 Recap

By Rick Loughery

January 23, 2021

It’s been an historic year for Young Republicans!  In 2019, we pledged to make a big impact on the 2020 election cycle, and we did just that.

In the fall of 2020, Young Republicans deployed to 25 states over ten weeks and made more than 23 million voter contacts supporting Republican candidates from the top to the bottom of the ballot in every battleground state, and beyond.  And that’s on top of national days of action for special elections throughout the year, such as Mike Garcia for Congress in California where more than 20,000 calls by Young Republicans helped secure victory in a critical district.  With 24 Young Republicans elected to Congress, and thousands elected to state legislatures across the country, we are well represented in public office.  We’ve expanded the size and scope of the Young Republican National Federation by doubling our membership, with historic fundraising efforts, and training more than one million young leaders and activists.  Young Republicans fought hard and left everything on the field, and I am proud of our contributions to the party this cycle.

Now, we look forward to building a better, stronger Republican Party led by a generation of Young Republicans.  We’re going to recruit, train and elect Young Republicans into office at the local, state and federal level across America.  We are not just the future, we are the present.  In the short-term, we will build on our success from 2020 and play an instrumental role in taking back Congress in 2022.  We are also looking ahead as we build this party into a vehicle for positive change in DC and our state capitols.  Together, we will build a future based on the founding principles of our constitution and one that is worthy of the promise of America.

Thank you for dedication and keep up the great work!
